I was given a special gift last year. It was in December, when I received a text message asking me if I am still interested to teach in school.
Teaching students was nothing new to me. Teaching or to be more precise, tutoring has been my bread and butter for almost a score already. And I had been privileged to have taught some of the brightest and smartest kids, right from their nursery up to their high school years; from their simple ABC's up to their complicated algebra problems.
But to teach in school, to stand in front of students, to give them lectures, to make their grades, to write their examinations, these were new to me.
As I answered "yes" I knew then, that I have come in full circle. For I was taking a step on the road I should have taken a long, long time ago....
For the remaining quarter of the school year, I have experienced teaching, interacting with the class of GRADE THREE- LOVE.
Ten lads and four lasses, each of them unique and special. Some, confused about their identities and genders. Others tried to hide their pains behind their cheerful faces. Some were having a hard time coping up with the pressures imposed by their own parents.
Fourteen seemingly innocent kids yet profound on how they view the 'hows' and 'whys' of their lives. They have made my experience unforgettable.... and..... worth repeating.
A chance...a gift given to me....again...
